Assistance Dogs
Independently Trained Assistance Dogs
Not all Assistance Dogs are trained or provided through a charity, some are trained primarily by their owner. The handlers of independently trained Assistance Dogs have the same legal rights under the Equality Act 2010 as those who have dogs trained through a charity.
Services
1-2-1 Training support
I offer 1-2-1 training sessions for those training their own Assistance Dog who may need some extra support.
These sessions can include:
- Basic obedience
- Advanced obedience
- Public Access training
- Task Training*
- 'Mock' and Public Access Test to ADI standards**

* Please note, I do not currently offer scent training for medical alert dogs or guide dog training for visually impaired clients.

** There is no official UK public access test or UK registry for Assistance Dogs. I am not able to accredit teams with Assistance Dog International (ADI) membership, I use the ADI assessment standard to help teams evaluate their current level of training.
